Lauren Selden, 12, is greeted by friends and family at the Hilo International Airport as she arrives home after one year and 10 days of battling Ewing’s Sarcoma in Seattle. With a the tumor in her left leg removed, bone replacement surgery and months of chemotherapy behind her, Selden shows no evidence of disease and will start school again on Monday. She will be monitored for the next five years to make sure that her cancer does not return.
